A new features has just been updated for Ubuntu Software Center, that allows you to test drive before you actually install the software on your system. To have that available you need to install qtnx
sudo apt-get install qtnx
From now on, every time when you search & setup from Ubuntu Software Center, there will appear a Test Drive button that let you try the software before install it on your computer.
