Follow these two steps to install Skype 2.0 on Ubuntu Jaunty
1. Add medibuntu to sources.lists
sudo wget http://www.medibuntu.org/sources.list.d/`lsb_release -cs`.list –output-document=/etc/apt/sources.list.d/medibuntu.list; sudo apt-get -q update; sudo apt-get –yes -q –allow-unauthenticated install medibuntu-keyring; sudo apt-get -q update2. Install Skype
sudo apt-get install skype
After that, you might have problem when making a call, it was “Call failed: Problem with audio playback” After playing around with the Sound Devices settings in Options, I found the setting which works with my Dell Inspiron
Sound In: HDA Intel (hw:Intel,0)
Sound Out: pulse
Ringing: pulse
Restart Skype and everything is fine
